I feel that homecoming shouldn’t be abolishing. Abolishing homecoming would be upsetting to students and former students. The reasons i feel this way is because homecoming could be so much fun, you also get to know more about your school, and learning there traditions of the school. To begin with, homecoming could be fun to new students and former students. In homecoming week they do something called spirit week. In spirit they allow you to dress up and show your school spirit. They have a homecoming football game which is so fun because you have people coming out to support your school. They also all teacher to show their spirit and dress up. They have students running for homecoming king and queen. Which is competitive to see who will†¦show more content†¦Homecoming is so much important to former students they admire so much of the history that they have to come and support it. Also, learning the school traditions. The school has a lot of ways they do things for hom ecoming week and the homecoming came. One of them is to show so much of your school colors to show your spirit. Our colors are maroon and grey which they will be seen a lot during the games. The school traditions can also be announcing the homecoming king and queen. They usually announce them at the football game during half time on the football field. At our school, they just dont announce the king and queen. They announce Mr. and Mrs. freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior also during half time. During the election they allow the candidates to show how good they are and pass out things to help them win. The students are only allowed to vote. The teachers are not because they dont have permission to vote. The candidates are competing against each other which is fun because you see how much people like to compete. Even if you don’t win you still can trying again except if you’re a senior. Senior’s can only run for homecoming king and queen why is that? I think they only allow the senior’s to run for king and queen because it’s their last year. Freshmans can’t run yet for king and queen because they’re new to the school.
